A young girl who died at a music festival in Belfast was depicted for the first time since her death.

Northern Ireland (PSNI) Belfast Regional Commander Police Service, Inspector Allister Hagan said: ‘The police will continue to work closely with the event organizers and license officials to ensure that the events remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.

“ 17 -year -old girl reportedly disturbed during the event. Unfortunately, he later died in the hospital. The police stayed at the event site until the afternoon Monday, August 25th.

‘An investigation continues to determine the conditions surrounding the tragic sudden death of the young man and our thoughts with the family and friends of the deceased.

‘The police will continue to work closely with the event organizers and undergraduate officials to ensure that the activities remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.’

He also confirmed that seven people were arrested at the music festival to have irregular behavior, attack on the police and controlled drugs.

Micky Murray, a member of Belfast Assembly, described the death of the girl as ‘heart -breaking’.

He wrote: ‘This afternoon, the death of a young girl who joined Emerge last night and two more heartbreaking news in the hospital.

‘I have very serious concerns about this, and as a BCC presence, I demand an emergency meeting with Council officers and representing representatives.’

According to PSNI, the other two people in Emerge were taken to hospital, including a young child who was fully expected to recover.

Meanwhile, a woman in her 30s is believed to be in a serious but stable situation in the hospital.

More than 70 actions were carried out on Saturdays and Sundays, including Fatboy Slim and Bicep, an electronic DJ duo from Belfast.

Daily Mail approached the Emerge Festival for comment.
