Pipe bomb suspect Brian Cole confessed, said he supports Trump

The accused who planted the pipe bomb, Brian Cole Jr. confessed his crime crimes He contacted the FBI and told agents that he supports President Donald Trump and has anarchist views. MS NOW reported Friday.

Cole, 30, was arrested at his family’s home in Woodbridge, Virginia, on Thursday morning, nearly five years after he allegedly planted explosives outside the Republican and Democratic party offices in Washington, D.C., on the eve of the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riot.

While in custody, Cole admitted to planting pipe bombs that did not explode, two sources familiar with his interview with the FBI told MS NOW.

Cole’s defense attorney, John Shoreman, did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for comment.

The government told Magistrate Judge Moxila Upadhyaya at his first hearing Friday afternoon that Cole spoke to authorities for “more than four hours” the day before, NBC News reported.

Federal authorities have not yet publicly stated what Cole’s claim was that he planted the bombs.

Asked what motivations Cole may have had, Attorney General Pam Bondi said at a news conference Thursday that the investigation is ongoing.

Cole is currently charged with transporting explosives in interstate commerce with intent to kill, injure, intimidate, or unlawfully destroy property.

He is also charged with “malicious destruction or attempted malicious destruction using fire and explosives.”

“I believe there will be other charges coming,” Bondi said on Fox News Friday morning.
