As the poster expected, these flight attendants started by handing out special meals to passengers who requested them. But to their surprise, they say a complete stranger objected to their decision to start eating.
“A complete stranger sat next to me and told me I was being rude and inconsiderate because I started eating my vegetarian meal before they arrived,” the poster read. “They said it was [a] The rule of thumb was to wait until everyone in line had their food, and I ruined their flight.”
“Their faces were red and [they] “They rolled their eyes a few times,” they continued. “I looked at them.”
The poster then asked a fellow Reddit user if this behavior was “next level entitlement” and added: “We don’t eat together [at] the same table in a restaurant.
In the comments, users largely agreed that this was an odd scenario.
“This is hilarious,” one reader wrote. “Do they get upset when others are served first in restaurants? Do they stand up in the middle of the restaurant and shout, ‘Please put down your forks until my food comes?’ ”
The person added: “I would tell them any questions could be directed to the flight crew.”
Another broke down the polite gesture: “This is an example of courtesy when sharing a meal with someone. You’re not eating with your seatmate, you’re just sitting next to them.”
Another asked humorously: “Did you go to the toilet at the same time as them?”
In-flight food can sometimes be a point of contention for passengers, but it can also cause for concern.
