EmergencyWA experiencing ‘technical difficulties’ leaving residents without access to bushfire information

WA’s bushfire emergency alert system has gone offline amid four bushfire emergencies.
As scores of bushfires burn across the state, the system has been thrown into chaos after the Emergency WA website and app experienced “technical difficulties”.
The technology failure occurred on Monday afternoon as firefighters battled out-of-control blazes east of Mandurah, north-east of Jurien Bay, north of Gingin and at Brigadoon and Gidgegannup.
Lives and homes are at risk in every fire.
The emergency WA app, which has been heralded as a success, appears to be experiencing problems on Monday; There is either no emergency warning or only burn locations are shown.
DFES confirmed there were “technical difficulties” in a statement posted on Facebook.
“The Emergency WA website and app are currently experiencing technical issues.”
“DFES is working to get Emergency WA back online as soon as possible.”
“To keep up to date, listen to your local ABC radio; call 13DFES (13 3337).
Emergency advice is still available via DFES’s social media channels and affected residents are asked to keep up to date via platforms such as Facebook.
Email alerts about wildfires are still working.
If anyone is in immediate danger, they are advised to call Triple-0.
