PM Lauds NDRF for Their Professionalism and Resolve on Raising Day

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday paid gratitude and appreciation to the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF) on Rising Day.
In a post on He also highlighted efforts to protect lives, provide relief and restore hope in challenging situations.
Prime Minister Modi wrote: “On the Raising Day of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), we express our deepest appreciation to the men and women whose professionalism and determination stand tall in times of crisis. Always at the forefront when a disaster strikes, NDRF personnel work tirelessly to protect lives, provide relief and restore hope under the most challenging circumstances.”
The Prime Minister also noted that the force’s skills and sense of duty exemplify the highest standards of service. Acknowledging the global respect that NDRF has earned, he said its work is a reference point in disaster preparedness and response.
“Their skills and sense of duty exemplify the highest standards of service. Over the years, NDRF has emerged as a benchmark in disaster preparedness and response and has earned great respect internationally,” he added.
PM Modi also shared photos of NDRF personnel involved in relief and disaster management operations in his message and tagged the official NDRF official.
Earlier, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also conveyed his congratulations on the occasion of NDRF Rising Day. In a post on X, he highlighted the power’s key role in building a “disaster resilient India” and described it as a pillar of confidence during disasters.
“Warm greetings to @NDRFHQ staff on Rising Day. Thanks to its pivotal role in realizing the Modi government’s resolve to build a disaster-resilient India, NDRF has today become the pillar of trust that the nation relies on during disasters. Salutes to the martyrs who sacrificed themselves for the safety of others,” Shah wrote.
The National Disaster Relief Force was established on 19 January 2006 as a highly capable, independent disaster response force to deal with both natural and man-made disasters.
NDRF responds to a wide range of emergencies, including search and rescue operations during earthquakes and landslides, flood and hurricane rescue, chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear contingencies, and medical emergencies.
It is strategically deployed across the country with 16 battalions and 28 regional response centres. NDRF Academy is located in Nagpur.
