PM Modi Allays FCRA Fears in Kerala Rally, Accuses Congress and LDF of Spreading Misinformation

Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has sought to allay the fears of the Christian community following concerns sparked by the NDA government’s Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Amendment Bill.

Addressing an election rally in the Christian heartland of Thiruvalla, Modi alleged that the Congress and LDF were lying about their character and constantly misleading the country. “When the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) came, they spread countless lies, but after it came into force, it did no harm to the nation. They spread misinformation by calling movies like Kerala Files, Kashmir Files, Kerala Story and Dhurandhar as fake. Now they are spreading similar lies with FCRA. Earlier, they also tried to mislead people about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).

However, the Prime Minister has stopped short of clarifying or explaining his government’s position on the FCRA.

The FCRA issue had triggered major protests in Kerala, with leading Christian sects vehemently opposing the change. India Alliance MPs also protested in front of the parliament.

Strong opposition from Christian sects, who felt the provisions could be used to target minority institutions, forced the Center to put the bill on hold. ‘The state leadership has warned the central leadership about the possible backlash the party may face during the upcoming assembly elections.’

Modi said that the faith, beliefs and culture of Kerala should be preserved and Kerala should move forward on the path of development; It is our decision.

The Chief Minister said that barring one, the NDA is in power in all the states in the North East, which have a sizeable Christian population. The development that NDA governments have brought to these states has never been witnessed in the last 60 years.

Similarly, in Goa, where the Christian community has a determined presence, the BJP-NDA government ushered in a new era of development.

Modi said that if NDA comes to power in Kerala, the state will witness next-stage development.

“We will work to find solutions to the problems of fishermen and farmers,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that an exciting atmosphere was witnessed in Kerala which showed people’s faith in NDA. “Since I had visited before, I had the chance to observe this atmosphere closely. But this time, the wind is blowing differently and the mood of the people has changed. Kerala is on the verge of the biggest transformation. On May 4, the end of LDF’s misrule was evident.

The countdown has begun for the LDF government. “This is the first time a BJP-NDA government will come to power in Kerala,” he said.

“Three days ago, when I was in Delhi, I had a telephone meeting with BJP workers in Kerala regarding ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’,” Modi said. More than 5,000 Shakti Kendras and 1.25 lakh workers of the BJP joined me for 30 to 40 minutes. I can guess that the people of Kerala gave way to the LDF government. “I thank all the BJP and NDA workers who worked hard in this election,” he said.

Sabarimala gold theft problem

Prime Minister Modi. who came under severe attack from Congress for skipping the Sabarimala issue during his last visit to Kerala a few days ago, spoke about the case at the Saturday rally. Rahul Gandhi had accused Modi of opting for LDF by skipping the Sabarimala issue due to their alleged “collusion” with the CPM.

“The theft at Sabarimala took place during the LDF period, but the Congress also had connections. The Left has always been known to attack the Hindu faith and the state government is not handing over the case to the CBI. The Congress is trying to stage a drama showing love for Hindus. I want to say clearly that when the NDA government comes to power, the LDF and the UDF will be punished for their wrongdoings and the looted gold will be returned to the temple,” the chief minister said.

Modi praises Thiruvalla candidate Anoop Antony, calls him ‘right hand’

Modi said: “Kerala will win this election, but I will have a personal loss. You see, Anoop, who is contesting from here, has been working with me for the last five years. He brings issues from all over the country to my office; he is a dedicated friend, my right-hand man. People may not know that Anoop has been with me for so long because he does not tell anyone. I know his strengths; he works day and night quietly, tirelessly, and much of my work was important to me. I succeeded because of him, but when Kerala needed his services, I had to accept my loss and hand over Anoop to all of you.” I decided to do it.”
