A plastic surgeon trained at a major Manhattan hospital is apologizing for not “speaking up” after witnessing children as young as 13 being subjected to “irreversible” sex surgeries.
Dr. “As a father of three young children and a doctor sworn to do no harm, I have failed to speak out, and I want to thank President Trump for providing more clarity on this issue,” Ira Savetsky said Thursday on “Fox & Friends.”
Savetsky, who studied at NYU Langone Health, said the culture at elite medical programs leaves little room for voicing concerns.
“You’re in the number one plastic surgery program, you’re grateful to be there. There’s no room to talk. You’re a trooper…” he said.

“You work so hard to get there… you don’t want to mess up.”
Savetsky’s comments came after the Manhattan hospital announced it would end its Transgender Youth Health Program, which came in the wake of regulatory pressure from the Trump administration, which threatened to withdraw federal funding from hospitals that provide such care.
“Given the recent departure of our medical director and the current regulatory environment, we have made the difficult decision to discontinue our Transgender Youth Health Program,” a hospital spokesperson said. he told the New York Post.

“We are committed to helping patients in our care manage this change. This does not impact our ongoing pediatric mental health care programs.”
In reflecting on patient procedures, Savetsky questioned the pressure families face when their children question their gender.
“I can only imagine what the parents are going through. I mean, they are told that if they don’t have this surgery, their child will kill themselves,” he said.

“They’re under pressure, so what should you do? You’ve given up everything to do the right thing for your child, and unfortunately I think there’s a lot of financial motivation in these institutions.”
NYU Langone did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
