PM Modi Holds “Excellent” Meeting With Netanyahu

Tel Aviv: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had an “excellent meeting” with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday and discussed a wide range of issues aimed at improving bilateral relations. In a post on channel X, Prime Minister Modi said he was “deeply touched by the warm welcome extended by my friend Prime Minister Netanyahu upon his arrival.” “May India-Israel friendship continue to rise even further!” he said.

He also said, “We had an excellent meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu. I expressed my gratitude to him for the warm welcome earlier in the day. It is a great pleasure for us to return to Israel after 9 years. We discussed a wide range of issues aimed at strengthening bilateral ties. Sectors such as technology, water management, agriculture, talent partnership and more offer tremendous scope for close cooperation. We also discussed important developments in the region.”

Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu heartily welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived in Tel Aviv on Wednesday for a two-day state visit, with a warm gesture reflecting the strengthening of ties between the two countries. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu shared a video of Prime Minister Modi’s arrival on the X social media platform and said, “Welcome to Israel, my dear friend @narendramodi.”

Netanyahu greeted his close friend’s visit, describing it as historic. “My wife, Sara, and I today welcomed our close friend, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has arrived on a new historic visit to Israel. Prime Minister Modi had previously visited Israel in 2017, and I subsequently paid a truly extraordinary reciprocal visit to India. We share a close personal relationship, we speak often, and I believe that the deep friendship between us is strongly reflected in the ties between our two countries.” he said in a post on X.

Expressing his honor to host Prime Minister Modi, Netanyahu said, “We will attend a festive reception in the Knesset, visit an innovation event in Jerusalem and host Prime Minister Modi at a joint dinner. Tomorrow, we will visit Yad Vashem and then hold another meeting with our teams. During this meeting, we will sign a series of agreements that will further advance the cooperation between Israel and India in the economic, security and diplomatic fields.” Netanyahu also said that it was an honor to host Prime Minister Modi.”Modi.”

Prime Minister Modi will pay an official visit to Israel between February 25-26.
