Comedian Nikki Glaser derided CBS News as a place for “BS news” during her monologue for the 83rd Golden Globe Awards ceremony Sunday night.
“And the ‘Most Edit’ award goes to CBS News. Yes, CBS News is America’s newest place to watch BS news,” Glaser said.
Over the past year, CBS has experienced several controversies in which some critics accused the network of losing credibility and new ownership that led to new leadership.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem accused CBS of editing her “Face the Nation” interview in September. CBS News later announced that the “Face the Nation” interviews would be broadcast live or live only in response.

However, CBS News had previously been accused by President Donald Trump of editing an interview with then-Vice President Kamala Harris to provide a better image of the Democratic candidate in the months leading up to the 2024 presidential election. Trump filed the lawsuit after accusing the network of “interfering with the election” in favor of Harris.
CBS’ parent company later reached a $16 million deal with President Donald Trump ahead of a merger with Skydance Media.

Although Glaser mocked CBS News, it was CBS and its parent company Paramount that aired Sunday night’s Golden Globe Awards, and the ceremony also aired on Paramount+.

CBS has faced backlash from liberal commentators since Paramount’s deal with Trump and has been accused of bowing to the Trump administration through Paramount’s new CEO, David Ellison. Ellison has focused on revitalizing CBS News since becoming CEO, naming Free Press founder Bari Weiss as editor-in-chief in October.

Progressive commentators also took after Weiss for key decisions she made behind the scenes, such as her withdrawal from the “60 Minutes” episode hours before it aired.
