The NDA government is highlighting its achievements in Bihar as Prime Minister Modi launched a strong attack on the opposition during a virtual meeting with young workers in the state. The party is gearing up for a fierce fight, with Modi and other senior leaders, including Amit Shah, actively campaigning across the state. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the young workers of Bihar through the ‘Mera Booth Sabse Majboot’ program on Thursday. During the virtual meeting, PM Modi launched a strong attack on the opposition, calling their alliance “Lathbandhan” and claiming that personal interests are “paramount” for these opposition parties that “don’t care about the youth of Bihar”.
“Those who call themselves ‘Gathbandhan’ and whom the people of Bihar call ‘Lathbandhan’ only know how to use lathi and continue to fight. For ‘Lathbandhan’, their own personal interest is paramount. They do not care about the youth of Bihar. For decades, the youth of the country and Bihar have suffered from Naxalism and Maoist terrorism. They even continued to win elections with the help of Maoist terrorism. Bihar’s youth “Naxalism and Maoist terrorism played a major role in its destruction,” he said.
The Prime Minister said that the NDA government has brought Bihar from the darkness of forest raj to the new light of development. “This Maoist terror did not allow schools, colleges or hospitals to open and instead destroyed those that were already built. They did not allow industries to enter… It takes a lot of effort to bring Bihar out of this situation. But we are doing this. We have worked very hard since 2014. NDA brought Bihar out of the darkness of jungle Raj and into the new light of development. Today we are trying to eliminate Naxalism.” Maoism and terrorism in Bihar. “It is our duty to secure the future of the youth of Bihar and we are working for this with full sincerity,” he said.
Samastipur has been an RJD stronghold since 2010. Akhtarul Islam Shahin won the seat for three consecutive terms. Shahin defeated JD-U’s Ashwamedh Devi by 4,714 votes in 2020. Begusarai is known for its industrial importance, earning it the nickname “industrial capital of Bihar”, and is the birthplace of notable figures such as poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar.
