Haryana cop beaten to death outside home in Hisar; 5 held

A 57-year-old Haryana Police inspector was allegedly beaten to death after he tried to stop a group of people from creating mayhem outside his house here, police said on Friday (November 7, 2025).

The incident occurred at around 23:00 on Thursday, November 6, 2025.

Police said Sub-Inspector Ramesh Kumar was beaten to death with bricks and sticks in Dhani Shyam Lal area.

The group left after scolding Kumar, but returned and attacked him with bricks, fatally wounding him in the head, police chief Shashank Kumar Sawan said.

The police detained 10 people in connection with the murder and detained 5 people.

The SP said the attackers lived in the same neighbourhood.

Police seized the car and scooter used by the suspect.

Kumar was appointed to the office of Additional Director General of Police and retired in January.

He is survived by his two daughters and a son, the SP said.
