PM Modi to Visit Somnath Temple on January 11

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit the Somnath Temple in Gujarat on January 11, officials said on Monday. They also said that events are planned throughout the year to commemorate ‘Somnath Swabhiman Parv’ in Somnath.
Many spiritual and social events will take place in Somnath between January 8 and 11, officials said.
Prime Minister Modi said the temple, which was rebuilt after repeated attacks by foreign invaders, is a symbol of the indomitable spirit of Indian civilization.
The Prime Minister said the first attack on Somnath Temple was 1,000 years old. “There is no better example of the indomitable spirit of our civilization than Somnath, standing in glory, overcoming adversity and struggle,” he said in a blog post to commemorate the anniversary.
