PM Modi Welcomes Agreement on Trump’s Peace Plan for West Asia

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday welcomed the agreement on the first phase of US President Donald Trump’s West Asia peace plan, under which Israel and Hamas agreed to halt the conflict in Gaza.
Modi said the agreement is also a reflection of the strong leadership of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
“We welcome the agreement on the first phase of President Trump’s peace plan. This is also a reflection of Prime Minister Netanyahu’s strong leadership,” Modi said in a post on channel X. he said.
“We hope that the release of the hostages and the provision of more humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza will bring them a period of respite and pave the way for lasting peace,” he said.
Israel and Hamas agreed to stop fighting in Gaza and release at least some hostages and detainees, a deal pushed by the Trump administration.
The deal marks the biggest breakthrough in months in the devastating two-year war.
