Poland accuses Russian intelligence services of railway sabotage attack

A spokesman for Poland’s special services minister accused Russian intelligence on Tuesday of orchestrating a railway explosion that destroyed a key road along the route used to deliver aid to Ukraine.
Jacek Dobrzyński he told reporters “Everything shows” that Russian intelligence was behind the sabotage of Polish railways.
“The fact is that everything shows that this – we can already safely call it a terrorist attack – was launched by special services from the East,” Dobrzyński said. he said.

In the incident, which authorities are investigating for a possible act of sabotage, an explosion damaged the Warsaw-Lublin railway line, while another section further south was also damaged.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk described the explosion on the Warsaw-Lublin line as “an unprecedented act of sabotage”.
“The railway line was destroyed as a result of the explosion of the explosive. Emergency services and the prosecutor’s office are working at the scene. Damage was also detected on the same route, closer to Lublin.” Tusk wrote on Monday He vowed to find the perpetrators in X.

The government’s National Security Committee met on Tuesday with the participation of military commanders, intelligence chiefs and the president’s representative to discuss the events.
Poland’s accusation comes amid recent security incidents in Eastern Europe following airfield attacks in September in which Russian drones entered Poland and three MiG-31 fighter jets crossed into Estonia before being intercepted by NATO aircraft.
