Kerala Congress leader booked for defamatory post against CM Pinarayi Vijayan

Kozhikode city police registered a case against senior Congress leader and KPCC Political Affairs Committee member N. Subrahmanian for allegedly sharing an AI-generated photo showing Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan with Sabarimala gold theft accused Unnikrishnan Potti.

The case was filed at Chevayur police station after Mr Subrahmanian shared the digitally altered image on Facebook accompanied by a caption implying a link between the Prime Minister and the accused.

Police sources confirmed that one of the images circulating was created using artificial intelligence tools.

The FIR was based on a complaint that the content was intended to incite conflict and promote hostility between different groups.

Accordingly, Mr. Subrahmanian was booked under Section 192 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 120 of the Kerala Police Act.
