Police hunt armed gunman after shot fired at property in Mullewa, WA
As an armed attacker escaped in Western Australia, police warned residents to be aware of their surroundings during a manhunt.
The man was identified by police as 58-year-old Kenneth John Giles.
He is described as being approximately 173cm tall, of medium build, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Police said the man was involved in a fight with a woman he knew at a house on Urawa Road in Mullewa, about 450 kilometers north of Perth, at about 5.20pm on Wednesday.
Investigators believe a gun was fired during the incident.
It was learned that the woman injured in the accident was not life-threatening and was taken to hospital.
“The man fled the scene armed with a firearm and is believed to have been traveling in a white Nissan Patrol vehicle with WA registration 1BIY336,” the WA Police Force said in a statement.
“Significant police resources have been deployed to the area, including Tactical Response Group Officers.
“Public in the Mullewa area are advised to be aware of their surroundings and be aware of the vehicle they are dealing with.”
