Police hunt for man dressed as lobster who attacked another man at darts match

Police are searching for a man who punched another man dressed as a lobster after a World Darts Championship match.

The victim, in his twenties, fell unconscious outside Alexandra Palace in north London on December 13 and is still suffering from “serious injuries”.

The Met Police have released CCTV footage taken at the scene in the hope the suspect can be identified and brought to justice.

He is believed to be part of a larger group of men who attended the tournament wearing lobster costumes.

The victim encountered the group at the entrance of the venue around 16.30 and started arguing with the intervention of the security guards of the scene.

They met again a short time later and the victim was punched in the venue’s lounge.

The injured, who was taken to the hospital, were not considered to be life-threatening, but were considered serious, and reported the situation to the police.

Detective Constable Lizzie Coster, who is investigating, said: “Our thoughts are with the victim in this case and we hope for the best for his recovery.

“This attack occurred outside at a major sporting event and the suspect was wearing a distinctive costume.

“We are releasing the CCTV footage of the suspect in the hope that it may jog the memory of participants or anyone else who was in the area at the time.”
