Police identify driver seriously injured in East El Paso crash

EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — The driver who was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in East El Paso on Wednesday, March 11, has been identified by the El Paso Police Department.

As KTSM previously reported, the crash occurred shortly before 3 p.m. at exit 30 off Lee Trevino. The El Paso Fire Department said one person, later identified as Garcia, was transported with serious injuries.

A post spread on social media stating that the object flying through Garcia’s windshield was an axe. El Paso Police said it was a metal rod, not an axe.

The family started a campaign GoFundMe For Garcia’s medical expenses. The family said Garcia was in critical condition.

As of the date of the report, no charges have been filed.
