Police identify man who was fatally shot on Family Day, autopsy reveals details; all you need to know

Authorities said the deceased victim was identified as 38-year-old Alinur Mohamed Mussa. The autopsy report revealed that the death was investigated as a murder. According to CTV News, the shooting was revealed when police teams were called to the area of 109th Street and 166th Street at 13:45 after gunshots were heard.
After the police teams arrived at the scene, Musa, who was injured at the scene and taken to the hospital, died due to his injuries. In September 2025, a man with the same name was acquitted in a fatal shooting at a party at Duggan Community Hall in 2021, CTV News reported. The same man also faced firearms charges in connection with a shooting at Ertale Lounge in 2022.
Meanwhile, in another incident, a second case has emerged involving a youth who was placed on peace bond with the 764 Network for his alleged involvement in terrorist activities. The previous incident occurred just over two weeks ago, when New Brunswick was hearing its first youth terrorism peace bond case. In the latest incident, the names of the young people involved cannot be given due to youth protection laws.
According to the Government of Canada website, 764 is a “decentralized transnational network of online nihilistic violent extremists” who seek to destroy society through violence and chaos. They target young people and marginalized people and groom them and incite them to commit violent and sexual acts.
