70 Auto-Rickshaws Distributed To Workers To Mark Third Anniversary Of Lokesh’s Yuvagalam Padayatra

Vijayawada: As many as 70 autorickshaws were distributed to workers on Tuesday to mark the third anniversary of the Yuvagalam padayatra conducted by Education, IT and Electronics Minister N. Lokesh. The program was held near Sarada College on BRTS Road here.

Speaking on the occasion, Labor Minister Vasamsetti Subash said that the initiative will help provide a stable livelihood to around 300-400 families. The distribution was organized under the patronage of Gottumukkala Raghurama Raju, chairman of Andhra Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Advisory Committee.

Subash said the Yuvagalam padayatra, which covered 3,132 km over 226 days, significantly changed the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh. He credited Lokesh for social welfare and attracting major investments, including technology giant Google, to the state.

The minister also appreciated Raghurama Raju for his efforts in providing insurance cover for workers and facilitating access to low-interest loans.

Many youth leaders who participated in the Yuvagalam padayatra later entered active politics and are now holding key positions as corporators, MPs and ministers, said Vijayawada MP Keseni Sivanath. He reminded that despite the previous YSRC government’s attempts to thwart the padayatra through obstacles and police cases, Lokesh continued the march without backing down.
