Police investigate crashes in Baldivis and Edgewater

A 27-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly crashed his car into the wall of a house in Baldivis while driving under the influence of alcohol in the early hours of Sunday morning and the vehicle came to rest on a pile of rubble inside the house.
Emergency services were called to the home on Poorinda Lane at around 1.40am on Sunday after a white Toyota Camry sedan crashed into the property.
A nine-year-old girl was asleep at home at the time of the accident, and her father had been in the kitchen just minutes before getting ready for bed.
Despite what WA Police described as “significant structural damage” to the home, residents walked away uninjured while the alleged driver of the sedan was taken to Rockingham Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
On Monday, police confirmed the 27-year-old driver had been charged with drink driving and that he failed to stop following a road accident that caused property damage. He was summoned to appear in court at a later date.

To save her from the house, he broke the screen of the window on the side of her room.
“I like to be prepared for anything, but this wasn’t on my bingo card… I’ve never seen anything like it,” he said.
Police investigating Edgewater crash that sent child to hospital
Meanwhile, police are investigating a crash on Saturday that sent an eight-year-old boy to hospital with serious injuries.
The crash happened around 4.45pm on Joondalup Drive in Edgewater; A Toyota Hilux traveling northbound on the road struck a white Toyota Corolla sedan waiting to exit George Gray Place.
The 31-year-old driver of the Corolla was seriously injured in the accident and was taken to Royal Perth Hospital, while the eight-year-old driver, who was a passenger in the Hilux, was taken to Joondalup Health Campus.
The 47-year-old man driving the Hilux was not injured.
