Aubrey Plaza is pregnant with her first child, just one year after the tragic death of her husband Jeff Baena.
The 41-year-old White Lotus star is expecting a child with her new partner Christopher Abbott, 40, a source confirmed to the Daily Mail.
The baby, whose gender has not yet been announced, is expected to be born in the fall.
‘It was a nice surprise after an emotional year,’ a source said People Tuesday’s pregnancy news.
Plaza and Abbott, who starred on Broadway before falling in love, are said to feel “very lucky.”
Abbott is known for playing the on-off boyfriend of Allison Williams’ character, Marnie, in Lena Dunham’s influential HBO comedy Girls.

The pair first worked together in 2019 on the independent psychological drama Black Bear. In this film, both actors played dual roles as actor and director trying to make a movie in a spooky, isolated lake house.
The low-budget thriller premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2020, with many critics singling it out as one of Plaza’s best roles to date.
In 2023, he worked with Abbott again – this time on stage – in a revival of John Patrick Shanley’s play Danny And The Deep Blue Sea, which runs Off Broadway until January 2024.
Plaza and her new partner were last seen together on February 14, when they attended Khaite’s Fall/Winter 2026 show during New York Fashion Week. The duo were photographed sitting together in the front row alongside stars including Elizabeth Debicki and Gemma Chan.
The Parks And Recreation star had managed to keep her relationship with Abbott private before announcing her pregnancy.
Accordingly DeuxMoia source noted that Plaza and Abbot appeared affectionate at Chatham Berry Farm, a two-and-a-half-hour drive outside New York City, in June 2025, five months after the death of Plaza’s estranged husband.
They alleged that Plaza was seen talking to a woman, who they later learned was Abbott’s older sister, Christina Abbot, and that the woman posted on Instagram in June about a performance at Chatham Berry Farm.
Plaza’s new love and baby news comes after the tragic year of 2025, when her estranged husband Jeff Baena died by suicide on January 3.
It was later reported that the couple had separated four months before his untimely death.
