Police officer killed as bombs explode in Lviv, Ukraine

The National Police said that one police officer was killed and 25 people were injured when several explosives exploded in Lviv, western Ukraine.
“It has been preliminarily determined that homemade explosives were detonated,” police said on the Telegram messaging service.
Police said the first explosion occurred after a patrol team arrived at the scene of a suspected break-in at a store, while the second explosion occurred a little later.
Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi described the incident as an act of terrorism.
President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said in X that police detained a suspect but did not provide further details.
According to state agency Ukrinform, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) said that investigators were examining the possible involvement of Russian intelligence services in the incident.
