Police probe whether Huntingdon suspect is linked to stabbing of boy, 14, in city centre and storming barber shop with a knife day before 11 people hurt on train

Police are investigating whether the Huntingdon suspect is linked to three other knife-related incidents in Cambridgeshire.
Cambridgeshire Police said they were ‘aware’ of three incidents that occurred on 31 October and 1 November and were ‘currently reviewing all incidents in the time frame to understand whether there are any other potential offences’.
In a statement, police said: “We are aware of three incidents that occurred in Peterborough on the evening of Friday 31 October and on the morning of Saturday 1 November.
“The first incident of a man with a knife in a barbershop in Fletton occurred at 7.25pm on Friday, but we were notified of the incident two hours later at 9.10pm.
“At the time of the report the man was no longer there and had not returned, so we did not send officers but a crime was brought forward.
“The second incident was reported to us by the barbers in Fletton at 9.25 on Saturday, while the man was still at the scene. Police teams were dispatched to the scene and arrived at the scene within 18 minutes.
“Following a search of the area, officers were unable to locate or identify the man and a criminal complaint was filed.
“There was also a third incident, which police believe may be related, at 19.10 on Friday, October 31; a 14-year-old teenager was stabbed by a man with a knife in the city centre. They were taken to Peterborough City Hospital with minor injuries and were later discharged.
“The criminal had left the scene when the call was made, and despite searches in the area by the officers and the police dog, the identity of the criminal could not be determined. The crime was revealed and an investigation was launched with the participation of the crime scene.
“We are currently reviewing all incidents within the time frame to understand whether there are other potential crimes.
“British Transport Police retains priority in the overall investigation, which will cover all three incidents.
“As is standard practice in these cases, we have voluntarily referred ourselves to the IOPC for independent review of these incidents.”
This is breaking news… We will follow up.
