Police release CCTV footage of suspected arsonist in bid to solve Maddington house fire

The arson squad is appealing for information about a house and car fire in Maddington in early December that sent three children and a woman to hospital.

Emergency services responded to reports of a fire at a house in Westfield Street at around 4.30am on December 10.

The children and the woman were taken to hospital by St John ambulance for precautionary treatment for smoke inhalation.

In the fire, which was extinguished by Fire and Emergency Services teams, major damage was caused to the house and a car in the parking lot.

CCTV footage released of the fire shows a man dressed in all black approaching the property before the car park and car were engulfed in flames.

Investigators would like to speak to the person pictured near the fire as they may have information that will help the investigation.

Rewards of up to $25,000 are available for information leading to the identification and conviction of an arsonist.
