Police seize 70 supercars worth almost £7m in massive London operation | UK | News

In a major police operation at the weekend, more than 70 £ more than 70 high -level vehicles, including two identical purple Lamborghinis, were seized.
Metropolitan police, anti-social and dangerous driving in the scope of pressure on the luxury cars in London to silence the engine insurers office (MIB) cooperated. The transport included an impressive Ferraris, Porsches and Mercedes-Benzes collection from Hyde Park, Kensington and Chelsea. The news comes only days after the police arrest 466 Palestinian action protesters ignoring the nationwide membership ban.
According to MIB, uninsured Lamborghinis was ventilated to England for the summer holiday of its owners. One of the drivers was just 15 minutes before his car was confiscated, just for two hours and behind the steering wheel.
MIB also revealed that many of the captured vehicles were imported from abroad and that drivers were based on insurance from their own countries without confirming the validity of the UK.
This operation resulted in the seizure of 72 vehicles, many of which were uninsured or insufficient, and also revealed various other criminal activities. These include real physical damage and criminal damage, drug crimes, stolen vehicles, immigration crimes and fraudulent insurance policies known as ‘ghost broker’.
Illegal violations
Driving without appropriate documents, the use of mobile phones behind the steering wheel, the lack of existing motor certificate, illegal darkened windows, seat belt violations and the operation of non -secure vehicles, including more than one penalty for various violations.
Police also neglected to update insurance companies, while seeing DVLA’s personalized registration plates, such as informing the drivers who have performed apparently harmless supervision.
The attempt emphasized the drivers the chance to correct their mistakes while emphasizing that the police were aware of such matters.
Seventy -five concerts from Met’s private constabory and vehicle application team participated and used various techniques to detect uninsured drivers.
‘Commitment’
James Deller from the Metropolitan Police, which was present during the operation, said: “Met is determined to cope with anti-social behavior.
“This operation was founded to respond to the concerns of business and visitors about high -valuable vehicles that cause distress in Hotspot areas in Central and Western London.
“Already, MET has reduced the neighborhood crime by 19 percent compared to the same time last year, and we discuss anti-social behavior caused by uninsured drivers.
“This was a great opportunity to work with the engine insurers office and to talk about our work with the members of the public, train drivers and apply the law.
‘Rules apply to all drivers’
“We have achieved a real success – thank you to private Constable colleagues who voluntered to eliminate the crime in London.”
Martin Saunders, Head of Uninsured Driving Prevention in MIB, emphasized the bilateral objectives of implementation and awareness: “We urge all drivers to control their insurance policies, to reach insurance companies if they are confirmed by any part of their policies.
“Although many criminal violations the laws, others have been sacrificed to simple mistakes such as leaping payments, unsuccessful renewals or false details. Seasonal hot spots and tourist -related crimes, Met and MIB plan plans to continue implementation and educational efforts throughout the year.
“These rules apply to all drivers regardless of the value of the vehicle they choose to drive.”
