Pope Leo Criticises High, Elon Musk-style Corporate Pay Packages

Vatican CITY, September 14 (Reuters) – Pope Leo refers to Tesla’s last $ 1 trillion compensation plan for CEO Elon Musk, criticizing the corporate payment packages that offer much higher salaries to managers from the first media interview on Sunday.
Originally from Chicago, Leo spoke about how the United Nations has worked as a missionary in Peru for decades, and about the hopes of peace in the three -year conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
He often interviewed and preferred to speak from the texts prepared, his predecessor Pope Francis showed a more separated style. Quotes on Sunday were released on Crux.
“60 years ago CEOs, four to six times more than workers received… 600 times more (now),” he said.
“Yesterday (Elon Musk had news that the world would be the first trillion of the world,” he said. “What does this mean and what is it?
Leo, who chose the first US Pope by the world cardinals in May to replace Francis, criticized the UN no longer encourages effective multilateral diplomacy.
“The United Nations must be the place where many problems are discussed,” Leo said. “Unfortunately, it seems generally accepted that the United Nations lost their ability to bring together people on multilateral issues at least at the moment.”
Since the Pope is the Pope, Leo said that the world is preparing more than 1.4 billion Catholic of Catholic in spiritual issues, but it was less prepared to play an important role in the global diplomatic stage.
