Heavy rain, thunderstorms likely this week in Uttar Pradesh: IMD

According to the Regional Meteorological Center Lucknow, showers with thunderstorms were expected over most parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh and many parts of western Uttar Pradesh on Monday; The activity is expected to become more widespread across the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The increase in monsoon activity is expected to ease the prevailing humid weather for the next two to three days.
IMD has warned of thunderstorms accompanied by lightning in isolated places across the state by July 30. While heavy rain is likely to fall in isolated places in many areas on Monday, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in some parts of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday.

On Tuesday, chances of heavy to very heavy rainfall are predicted for Sonbhadra, Saharanpur, Muzaffarnagar, Bijnor, Moradabad, Rampur and Bareilly, while heavy rain is also expected in areas like Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Lakhimpur Kheri, Shamli, Meerut, Amroha, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Sambhal. Badaun, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Jhansi.
The meteorological office advised people to be careful about the possibility of lightning, thunderstorms and heavy rainfall in sensitive areas. In places that receive heavy rainfall, local waterlogging and disruptions in normal life may occur.
