Pope urges all sides in Iran-Israel war to talk peace

Pope Leo Xiv called for a dialogue and diplomacy path to reach peace because it expresses solidarity with all the Christians in the Middle East, “rejecting the logic of bullying and revenge” in the Israeli-Iranian War.
Speaking at the weekly Wednesday general audience, the American Pontiff said he followed the latest developments in the war with “attention and hope”.
He showed the incentive in the Bible: “A nation will not raise its sword against another nation.”
There is a ceasefire in the 12-day conflict in the Iran-Israeli conflict, which intervened in Israel and the United States, aiming at Iran’s nuclear and military areas by leaving shelter bombs in the nuclear areas of Iran. Iran has long claimed that the nuclear program has been peaceful.
“Let’s listen to this sound from the height,” Leo said.
“Reject the logic of the ruptures caused by the bloody actions of the last days, reject the logic of bullying and revenge, and take a decisive way to dialogue, diplomacy and peace.”
Born in Chicago, Leo also on Sunday, Damascus, expressed solidarity with the victims of the attack on the Greek Orthodox Church in Syria and called on the international community to support Syrian reconciliation.
The Syrian Ministry of Interior said that a sleeping cell belonging to the Islamic State group was behind the attack that killed at least 25 people in the Holy Cross Church in Damascus.
“I am with the Christians in the Middle East, I am with you. The whole church is close to you.”
“This tragic event is a reminder of the deep fragility, which still points to Syria after years of conflict and instability, and therefore it is very important that the international community does not stay away from this country, but it continues to provide support for solidarity movements and peace and reconciliation.”
