Populist billionaire Andrej Babiš wins Czech parliamentary election | Czech Republic

Populist billionaire Andrej Babiš won the Czech Parliamentary elections on a political return that put the country into a course of supporting Ukraine and in a pro -Russian way to Hungary and Slovakia.

Almost 98% of the voting stations counted by the Statistical Office caught 35% of Babiš’s Ano (yes) movement votes, and then followed by Prime Minister Batı Petr Fiala and the pro -Western coalition. The coalition defeated Babiš in the 2021 elections.

The two -day election filled 200 seats in the lower house of the Czech Parliament. A group of mayors, known as Stan, a member of the Fiala government, had 11.1% of the votes, another ally Fiala, the Pirates Party reached 8.7%.

The anti -immigrant power, the Freedom and the Direct Democracy Party, received 7.9%, while the right -wing group said that the drivers received 6.8%. The two are potential partners for Babiš if they want to have the majority government.

Victory Babiš is preparing to join the ranks of Robert Fico from Slovakia, who refused to provide military aid to Prime Minister Viktor Orbán from Hungary and their countries to Ukraine.

The Czech Republic has been a loyal supporter of Ukraine since Russia’s full -scale invasion in February 2022. The country donated weapons to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including heavy weapons, and artillery shells are behind an attempt that bought Ukraine’s EU needs from countries other than EU.

Babiš questioned such support and also refused to fully approve the commitment to significantly increasing defense expenditures.

Together with his friend Orbán last year, he combined his powers to create a significant change from the Liberal Renew group, where Babiš had previously belonged to Babiš’s previously belonging to Babiš to create a new alliance in the European Parliament.
