Port Coogee Marina: Boat pen expansion floated in $4m proposal to meet rising demand
Plans for Port Coogee Marina’s $ 4.1 million expansion.
The expansion will create 32 special items and four public docks on a public scaffold and increase the total number of items to more than 260.
The city of Cockburn plans to advertise the proposal and public opinion by the end of the year with a report that should be taken into consideration by the Council in the beginning of next year.
The plans were proposed in a business case report by Urbis, the PETH -based Naval Planner Urbis, approved by the Council at the August 12 meeting.
The recommended concept recommends a combination of Aluminum Gangways and floating pier pontons to form six jet ski pen, 14 10m pen, three 12m pen and nine 15m pens.
Port Coogee Marina has a capacity of 90 percent and is estimated to increase from 135,150 to 178.010 in the population of Cockburn.
