Edinburgh tram emergency as air ambulance rushes to major city centre | UK | News

An air ambulance has been sent to Edinburgh city center after emergency services were called to a major incident. Police, fire crews and paramedics flocked to Constitution Avenue in the Scottish capital at around 1.30pm.
An air ambulance was seen landing at Leith Links shortly afterwards and locals reported a helicopter landing at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary just before 3pm. An eyewitness said, “There is someone under the tram and trying to get him out. I have been here for about 15 minutes.” Scottish.
“I’ve lived in this area all my life and there have been tram accidents, but I’ve never seen anything like this,” they added.
According to Edinburgh Live, it is not yet clear what exactly happened and the condition of those involved.

They added that ticket acceptance was through Lothian Buses “at number 16 between Newhaven and Balfour Street” and apologized for any inconvenience caused.
Police said emergency services were at the scene.
A spokesman said: “Constitution Street was closed at the junction with Queen Charlotte Street in Edinburgh following a report of concern for a person received at around 1.35pm on Friday 7 November.
“Emergency services are on standby and the public is advised to avoid the area.”
