Poundland issues urgent food recall amid fears snack ‘may contain glass’ | UK | News

Poundland customers have been asked not to eat a snack product due to concerns it may be unsafe for consumption. The popular retailer is recalling its popular Roasted and Salted Cashews because they have been marked as unsafe to eat.

Poundland is concerned the snack may contain glass and has removed the product from its shelves as a result. In an urgent recall notice, the high street chain says 100g packs with an expiration date of July 19, 2026 may be affected. People who may have brought this batch are being urged not to eat it and instead return it to a Poundland store.

The recall notice states that no proof of purchase is required. “We ask all customers who purchased this product to return it to the store for a full refund, no receipt required,” the retailer said.

The affected nuts come in a green bag with Poundland product code 934088 and barcode 5045730461405.

The statement added: “We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. However, the safety and trust of our customers and the quality of our products are at the heart of everything we do.”

Earlier this week Lidl GB recalled Simply Roasted and Salted Cashew Nuts due to concerns about the possible presence of glass in the product.

The FSA said: “If you have purchased the above product, do not consume it. Instead, return it to the store where you purchased it for a full refund. For further information, please contact Lidl Customer Services at customer.care@lidl.co.uk or on 0203 966 5566.”

The recall affects 125 grams of Simply Roasted and Salted Cashews with an expiration date of June 28, 2026.

Customers who purchased this product are asked to return it to the nearest store where they will receive a full refund.
