Powerboat driver dies after crash with houseboat at Oulton Broad

A power boat driver died in an international competition after colliding with a fixed Houseboat.
Circuit Powerboat Association (EBM) said the boiler occurred on Thursday at 19:50 during the event at Oulton Broad.
Suffolk police now confirmed that the Powerboat driver, a man in his 50s, died at the scene.
The Coast Guard and Eastern British Ambulance Service also participated in the Police Maritime Accident Investigation Bureau (MAIB).

Suffolk police, civil servants “Oluton Broad Water Sports Center around a power boat and a fixed home boat containing a collision reports,” he said.

In a statement on social media, EBM said No other competitor was included.
“As this event continues, we ask that people avoid speculation on conditions and that the confidentiality of the relevant opponent’s family is respected.”
MAIB spokesman said he was aware of the incident.
“Our inspectors are in the process of making preliminary investigations to better understand the conditions that cause this accident.”
