PPI inflation report June 2025

A measure of wholesale sales prices did not vary in June and provided a contradictory sign on whether tariffs threatened to increase inflation in the coming months.

The producer price index reported on Wednesday was fixed on Wednesday, according to seasonally adjusted numbers from the Bureau of Statistics. The economists participating in the survey by Dow Jones were looking for an increase of 0.2%.

The same was valid for the core PPI, which was expected to increase by 0.2%.

Combined with the consumer price index version of Tuesday, data shows that President Donald Trump’s tariffs are only a marginal bite on the US economy and goods and service prices.
