OpenAI launches ChatGPT Health to connect user medical records

OpenAI announced Wednesday ChatGPT HealthThis will allow users to securely connect their medical records and wellness apps to the AI chatbot.
OpenAI said ChatGPT Health is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes and is not expected to replace medical care. Rather, the experience is expected to help users navigate everyday questions and aims to make ChatGPT’s answers more relevant by basing them on the user’s own health information.
“ChatGPT Health is another step towards turning ChatGPT into a personal super assistant that can support you with information and tools to help you achieve your goals in any part of your life,” said Fidji Simo. The CEO of applications at OpenAI wrote: A post on Substack.
OpenAI said ChatGPT Health has its own private space within the chatbot, so all those files, conversations, and connected applications are stored separately from other chats. The company said information and memories from ChatGPT Health will not flow outside of this domain, and these conversations will not be used to train OpenAI’s underlying models.

Users will also be able to connect to: Apple Health, MyFitnessPal, Weight Watchers, lab test start Function and other data. Services can be connected from tools or applications in settings.
OpenAI said ChatGPT Health was developed in “close collaboration” with doctors.
OpenAI has deepened its work on healthcare in recent months.
After the company launched its GPT-5 model in August, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman told CNBC that healthcare was “perhaps the area with the strongest growth of any category.”
In May, it published a benchmark called. Health Bench It is designed to measure how well AI models perform in realistic healthcare scenarios.
The startup said Wednesday that “hundreds of millions” of people ask health and wellness questions every week.
ChatGPT Health will initially be available to a small group of early users who will provide feedback and improve the experience. OpenAI said it would expand access in the coming weeks.
