Prices Continue to Fall in Telangana, Says Centre’s MoSPI

Haydarabad: According to data published by the Union Statistics and Program application on Tuesday, Tahangana recorded a negative inflation rate (deflation) for the second month in July. While Tahangana was the only state to record the deflation in June, three more states – Assem, Bihar and Odisha – joined the list in July.

Tahangana, in July, a deflation of 0.44 percent recorded. In July, Assem released 0.61 percent upright deflation of 0.61 percent, then 0.44 percent, Odisha 0.30 percent and Bihar 0.10 percent.

The rural deflation in TaLANgana was 0.91 percent and urban deflation was 0.05 percent, both of them were significantly lower than 1.18 percent national rural inflation and 2.05 percent urban inflation. Against the general inflation rate of 1.55 percent in India in July, 0.44 percent negative inflation of TaLangana points out that prices do not only rise slowly, but also a rare economic stage in which it falls – a phenomenon known as deflation.

Neighbor Andhra Pradesh, who recorded zero inflation growth in June 2025, published 0.05 percent rural deflation and 1.41 percent urban inflation in July. The general inflation of the EP is 0.50 percent, well below the national averages.

This development points to a dramatic return for Tarangana, who struggled with double -digit inflation between 2020 and 2023 during the BRS regime,, rates often exceed 10 percent and increase concerns about affordable price and living costs.

Since the congress government took office in December 2023, inflation steadily -from 1.31 percent in February to 1.06 percent in March, 1.26 percent in April, then to 0.55 percent in May, and followed -0.93 percent in June.

When TaLangana recorded the lowest inflation in the country in April this year, Prime Minister A. Redyam praised the success of social media and called the “transformative and human -centered governance” proof.

Free bus travel for women, RS 500 LPG cylinders, 200 free electricity, Rajiv Arogyasri RS 10 Lakh Health Insurance and welfare plans such as free rice for ration card holders to reduce the financial burden of citizens.

“In accordance with the BRS rule, Tahangana had the highest inflation in the country.

TaLangana is currently one of the only four states that registered in July, and inflation is well below the 2-4 percent comfort range of the Indian Reserve Bank. Experts pay attention to the fact that long -term deflation can show the request and investment, but they believe that the state’s moderate deflation of 0.44 percent of the state reflects the targeted cost -cutting measures and policy interventions rather than economic recession. For now, Tahangana’s rare success is seen as a verification of the welfare -focused economic strategy.
