Prince Andrew faces new ban after Jeffrey Epstein email bombshell | Royal | News

Prince Andrew could be banned from engaging in fun activities such as shooting at the royal residences after the latest bombshell revelation about his relationship with convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, reports have claimed. The Duke of York found himself in hot water over the weekend after an email emerged in which he allegedly told the disgraced financier “we’re in this together”, three months after he announced he was cutting contact with him.
The alleged email was sent a day after an infamous photo emerged showing him with harasser Virginia Giuffre. The photo was first published on February 27, 2011, and shows the Duke with his arm around Virginia’s waist at the London home of Epstein’s then-girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell.
Andrew cut ties with the disgraced financier in December 2010, he told Emily Maitlis’ BBC Newsnight in 2019.
But an email dated February 28, 2011, seen by the Sun, appears to suggest the Duke remained in contact with Epstein for longer than he declared.
The prince reportedly told Epstein in the email: “I’m worried about you too! Don’t worry about me! It looks like we’re in this together and we’ll just have to get through it.”
He also appeared keen to continue their friendship and urged the convicted pedophile to “stay in close contact”. He said: “We’ll be playing some more soon!!!!”
Now sources claim the disgraced Duke could be banned from hosting shooting parties at royal estates. Daily Mail.
It is also understood that the Duke and Duchess of York will not be welcome at the Royal Family’s Christmas celebrations at Sandringham this year.
Virginia Giuffre, formerly known as Virginia Roberts (née), was one of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s most prominent accusers and also a campaigner for victims of sex trafficking.
Among other allegations, she claimed that Epstein forced her to have sex with the Duke of York three times when she was 17, in New York, London and the US Virgin Islands. Andrew has repeatedly and vehemently denied the allegations.
During a BBC interview on November 16, 2019, Andrew denied the allegations against him and any wrongdoing, claiming he “didn’t remember ever meeting” Ms Giuffre. Regarding Epstein, he stated: “I stayed in many of his homes. At no point during the limited time I spent with him did I see, witness or suspect any conduct of the kind that would later lead to his arrest and conviction.”
He also denied that the infamous photo of him holding the hand of a young Ms. Giuffre was real, saying: “Listen, I don’t remember, I don’t remember that photo being taken.”
The interview sparked a public outcry, and days later Andrew announced he would resign from royal duties, adding that he had deep sympathy for Epstein’s victims and anyone who “wants some form of closure”.
Prince Andrew’s office and Buckingham Palace have been contacted for comment.
