Search launched for mystery Cairns lottery winner who is yet to claim $4.8m

One lucky person unwittingly became Australia’s latest millionaire over the Easter long weekend.
The elusive Cairns resident has won $4.8 million from Set for Life, which is set to be paid in $20,000 monthly installments over the next 20 years.
But the life-changing sum has not yet been claimed, leading The Lott spokesman Matt Hart to believe the ticket holder was not yet aware of their newfound fortune.
“Our mystery winner probably doesn’t know they’re Ready for Life on Saturday night,” he said.
“We can’t wait to speak with this winner and confirm the exciting news.
“This is the kind of surprise that could make 2026 and the next few decades unforgettable.”
The winning ticket was purchased from Raintrees News Agency on Koch Street in Cairns.
Saturday’s win was the Set for Life division’s fourth win in Queensland in the last three weeks.
“If you think you are the mystery winner we are looking for, call us on 131 868 to start the prize claim process,” Mr Hart said.
