Prince Harry leaves Meghan and kids behind to go on a skiing holiday | Royal | News

The Duke of Sussex, who saw Prince Harry for the first time after the news that his father-in-law Thomas Markle’s leg was amputated, was seen enjoying the ski slopes in Aspen, Colorado. While Prince Harry joined his polo-playing friend Nacho Figueras for a short break, his wife Meghan Markle and their two children reportedly stayed at home.
In keeping with sporty attire, the couple was dressed ready for action; Duke wore a mauve ski jacket with a blue contrast zipper and black ski pants with matching boots. A source told Hello! Magazine: “Prince Harry was with Nacho for nearly four hours in the mountains. The couple spent the day skiing and enjoyed lunch together at one of the on-site restaurants.”
They added: “Harry looked happy and was joined by a few of his male friends on the tracks.”
It’s expected to be a quiet Christmas in the Sussex family as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not invited by King Charles to Sandringham to spend Christmas with the Royal Family.
He will also not be able to see his brother Prince William, Princess Catherine and their three children, who are in Norfolk for holiday.
According to the news, 44-year-old Meghan Markle and her children Prince Archie (6) and Princess Lilibet (4) did not participate in the special ski trip, but the family will celebrate Christmas at their home in Montecito, California next week.
Prince Harry has been skiing with his mother, the late Princess of Wales, since he was a child, and has joined family members on holidays in cold-weather destinations like Switzerland.
As a lover of cold sports, he also had the opportunity to try out an adaptive ski at Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler’s One Year to Go celebration for the Invictus Games in 2024.
Harry’s sighting comes after Meghan contacted her estranged father, Thomas Markle, for the first time in years after he had surgery to amputate his leg in the Philippines.
A spokesperson for the Duchess of Sussex said in a statement on December 10 that a note was delivered “safely” to Thomas, 81, “with the support of trusted and reliable contacts.”
Meghan has been estranged from her father since just before her royal wedding to Harry in May 2018.
