Prince Harry sued by Sentebale charity for defamation | Royal | News

Prince Harry is being sued for defamation by the charity Sentebale, according to High Court records. Online court records show Harry is a defendant along with Mark Dyer in a claim for libel or slander. There is currently no documentation available for the claim, which was first submitted on March 24.

The news comes a year after the head of the African charity co-founded by Prince Harry accused him of orchestrating a campaign of bullying and harassment as the royal family pushed back following his sudden resignation from the organisation. Sentebale president Sophie Chandauka took several photos of Harry on Sky News, where she described how the prince’s Netflix deal interfered with a planned fundraiser and how an incident with his wife, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, became a source of friction.

The Duke of Sussex cited a breakdown in the relationship between board members and Chandauka when he resigned in March 2025 as boss of the charity he founded in memory of his late mother Princess Diana nearly 20 years ago.

Harry and Lesotho co-founder Prince Seeiso said in a joint statement that they had resigned as bosses “with bad hearts” to support the trustees in their dispute with Chandauka.

“It is devastating that the relationship between the charity’s trustees and the chairman has broken down beyond repair, creating an untenable situation,” the Princes said. “In response, he sued the charity to keep him in this voluntary position, further highlighting the deteriorating relationship.”

Chandauka said he reported Sentebale’s trusteeship to the UK Charity Commission and filed documents with a British court to prevent his removal.

In a statement, he alleged abuse at the charity without naming anyone or providing any details. It was stated that she was trying to report “abuse of power, bullying, harassment, misogyny and misogyny,” with the latter word referring to a combination of racism and misogyny towards Black women.

Chandauka told Sky that Harry’s resignation caught her off guard and was “an example of harassment and bullying on a massive scale”. He said he also intervened in the whistleblower’s complaint.
