Prince Harry ‘to miss’ Christmas as royal expert issues savage verdict | Royal | News

Although Prince Harry has begun to make amends after meeting his father, King Charles, last month, it seems unlikely that the Duke of Sussex will still spend Christmas with his royal relatives this year. Although unconfirmed, it is believed that Harry, his wife Meghan Markle and their two children will not be on the Christmas guest list at Sandringham.
They’re likely to spend the festive season at their home in Montecito, California, instead. The lack of an invitation to spend Christmas Day with the royal family may have come as no surprise to the prince, who quit royal life in 2020 after not attending royal festivities for seven years.
However, while the prince may have some sort of feeling about it, a royal expert has issued a damning seven-word verdict on the prince and Meghan Markle’s Christmas absence at Sandringham.
to talk privately express.co.ukRoyal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said: “It’s unlikely they were kidnapped!”
He said: “This year, as the thoughts of many across the Commonwealth and around the world turn to the Royal Family at Christmas, the Sussexes will once again be visibly absent, especially given King Charles’s health struggles and Catherine’s recovery.
“They will no doubt enjoy Christmas in California, but given how erratically and destructively they have behaved since Megxit, they are unlikely to be missed!”
Mr Fitzwilliams also said Harry may now be accustomed to spending Christmas away from royal relatives, some of whom he has fallen out with, but will no doubt think back fondly on his past memories at Sandringham.
The expert said: “Harry writes warmly of his Christmas memories in his misjudged memoir, Spare. As his father continues to receive treatment for cancer, as with many exiles, his thoughts will no doubt occasionally turn to fond memories of Christmases past.”
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s last Christmas at Sandringham was in 2018; that is, a year before their son, Prince Archie, was born. The couple’s children, Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, never spent Christmas with their royal relatives.
Mr Fitzwilliams said it was “sad but inevitable” as a result of Harry’s difficult relationships with some of his royal relatives over the past five years. These fractured relationships are believed to be the result of some of Harry and Meghan’s actions after leaving royal life; these include criticizing the Firm in a 2021 Oprah Winfrey interview, the 2022 Netflix docuseries Harry and Meghan, and Harry’s 2023 memoir Spare.
It is not yet known which royal family will be at Sandringham on December 25 this year.
