Two persons murdered at Tasmac outlets in Tirupattur over previous enmity

Two people were killed at two Tasmac outlets near Ambur and Tirupattur town on Saturday due to previous enmity.
Police said the deceased were identified as S. Appunu (40), a native of Saminathapuram village near Ambur town, and B. Silabarasan (37), a native of Tirupattur town.
Initial investigation revealed that the victim Appunu and his friend K. Gokul, a resident of Madhanur near Ambur, had consumed liquor at Tasmac outlet near Madhanur village off Chennai – Bengaluru Expressway (NH 48). They were taxi drivers in the area.
Police said the two got into a heated argument after Appunu demanded his money back of ₹20,000 from Gokul, who had borrowed money to meet his household needs a few months ago. They rained blows on each other. Appunu was seriously injured due to the impact.
Appunu was immediately taken to the Government Taluk Hospital in Ambur town, where doctors declared him dead. A case has been registered by Ambur Taluk police.
In a separate incident, a 17-year-old boy was arrested by Tirupattur Town police for smashing Silabarasan’s head with a stone at a Tasmac outlet near Tirupattur town on Saturday.
The teenager’s father, Silabarasan, and N. Anand Raj (41) were childhood friends, police said. They were residents of Kalaignar Nagar near Tirupattur town. They worked together as wage laborers in the area.
Police said Silambarasan stabbed his friend during a fight between them over salary payment. He was lodged in the Central Jail in Vellore. He was released on conditional bail a few days ago.
Police said a youth spotted Silabarasan at the old bus terminal in Tirupattur town on Saturday. Apparently, he followed Silambarasan to the Tasmac store. The youth smashed Silabarasan’s head with a stone and fled the scene. The police then detained the child.
