As of May 2021, a report from Swim England showed that although he swims, almost one of the three children in the UK could not swim in primary education.
William and Kate’s Foundation said in a statement: “To ensure that access to community pools only offers more than a place to swim-they offer the opportunity to learn, to be active and to connect with others in a safe, supportive environment. These resources are particularly vital in insufficient service areas.”
Tom Dean said: “Every child should have the opportunity to learn to swim and understand water safety. Swimming is a vital life skill that creates flexibility, encourages social connection and keeps young people safe in water and around him.
“This partnership with the Royal Foundation supports too much and down in England to find a pool close to them and to dive.
“This new partnership between the Royal Foundation and Tom Dean MBE swimming school is an important next step because we encourage the benefits of learning to swim – this new partnership between the Royal Foundation and Tom Dean MBE swimming school.”
