Corporal Lucy Wilde of the Royal Army Medical Service was a British Army doctor who became a star documenting her life in the army on TikTok and died suddenly, according to her family. He had thousands of followers on social media and would often document his workouts in the barracks gym or offer health and fitness advice.
According to The Daily Mail, he was well-known within the military and even met Prince William, Colonel of the Welsh Guards, where Corporal Wilde spent most of his career.
Corporal Wilde joined the army eight years ago and has served in military operations in Kenya, the Falklands and South Georgia, and ran the Rome Marathon in 2024.
He was attached to the Welsh Guards until Christmas, when he moved to his next posting to the 2nd Battalion Royal Yorkshire Regiment.
The Ministry of Defense said the circumstances surrounding Wilde’s death were being investigated.
In a video posted on TikTok last week, three days before he died, Corporal Wilde explained how the last five months had been a “struggle” for him mentally and that he was in a “rut”. The last video she shared at the beginning of February was about how tiring having a puppy made her.
The young doctor shared that he felt heartbroken after breaking up with his colleague in the military.
A video posted on TikTok in November last year was accompanied by the following text: “You will fall in love with an old man in the army in your 20s. It is very important that you move away from him xxx.”
“Because I didn’t do it, now I’m paying the price,” he said, adding a broken heart emoji.
