Princess Andre says she’s ‘relieved’ not to be ‘caught in the middle’ of parents Katie Price and Peter Andre’s feud after their ‘truce’

Princess Andre has revealed she is “relieved” not to be caught in the middle of her parents’ long-running fight following the truce between Katie Price and Peter Andre.

The 18-year-old reality star, who is returning to ITV2 for the second series of The Princess Diaries, told the Daily Mail she hopes life will be ‘easier’ now that her parents have chosen to ‘close the door on the past’ and ‘move forward with positivity and respect’.

In an exclusive interview, Princess, whose parents divorced just two years after she was born, said she was hopeful they could appear together on a future third season of her show.

He said: ‘The good thing is that my mother and father have come to an agreement to avoid any problems, so I hope that in the third season they will both be involved in this agreement.

‘I’m honestly relieved that they’ve both agreed to move forward. It’s nice to hope that they’re on good terms and that Junior and I won’t be left hanging and life will be easier for everyone.

‘All I care about right now is that we can all be happy and that we don’t have to deal with stories with false narratives. ‘It would be nice if people didn’t ask me and Junior about our parents or the problems they’re having, but it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop yet.’

Indeed, viewers of the teenager’s show have long been fascinated by the rifts between her parents following their acrimonious separation in 2007 – a divorce that marked the beginning of 16 years of tension between the former couple.

Last August, singer Pete addressed what he described as ‘lies’ and ‘unfounded allegations’ from his ex-wife, while revealing for the first time that Junior and Princess were completely given to him in 2018.

Her statement comes after Katie claimed she was ‘banned’ from filming The Princess Diaries, telling listeners on her podcast that she was ‘saddened’ to be excluded from the project.

The public back and forth resulted in Pete and his wife Emily walking away from the new series altogether, despite appearing in the first season.

Now, six months later, the former couple, who have been married for four years, have agreed to a ‘truce’, reaffirming their shared commitment to ‘family’ and ‘stability’.

Princess added: ‘They’re still in it to be honest, they’re just not physically in it. There are no problems anymore, everything is calm.

‘I turned 18 from last season and this was all about my journey into adulthood, but you’ll see me become more independent.

‘This season I see myself pushing myself out of my comfort zone and doing things I wouldn’t normally do. ‘I live my life as an 18-year-old girl.’

Last August, Pete addressed his ex’s allegations, which he described as ‘lies’ and ‘unfounded allegations’, while revealing for the first time that Junior and Princess were given entirely to him in 2018.

While fans won’t be able to physically see Katie or Pete in the upcoming season, which returns Sunday at 9 p.m., viewers will meet some new faces.

The Princess revealed that her eldest sibling Harvey, 23, will be appearing in the show for the first time.

He hopes that by including him in the shoot, he can help raise awareness of his disabilities, which include septo-optic dysplasia (a rare condition that leaves him partially blind and causes growth hormone deficiency) as well as Prader-Willi syndrome, a genetic disorder associated with excessive appetite and an increased risk of obesity and diabetes. Harvey was also diagnosed with ADHD and autism.

The Princess said: ‘Harvey will be joining the show; ‘You will see our sister-sister relationship.’

Junior, 20, who was present during Princess’ interview, chimed in to add his own thoughts, saying: ‘He’s our big brother and he’s like my little sister in a way. It’s our family and we want to show our family.

‘Harvey is a big part of this; We both grew up with it. We have a very special bond with it and people know that but they haven’t seen it for a while; maybe they don’t know how it works now but it’s great because it shows how the dynamic works.

‘We know Harvey inside and out, how he works, how he copes with his disabilities and autism; “We really know how to get to it.”

Princess also revealed that her mother’s close friend Kerry Katona filmed scenes for the show alongside Kerry’s 18-year-old daughter Heidi, whom Princess has known her entire life.

He added: ‘You’ll see Heidi and Kerry, so there’s some new faces. People will like to see my relationship with Heidi because we like each other. We’ve been through similar life experiences, so naturally I feel closer to him.

‘I’ve known him since I was a baby; We were always there for each other. ‘Our friendship is real and we talk about things people probably want to know.’

While fans won’t be able to physically see Katie or Pete in the upcoming season, which returns Sunday at 9 p.m., viewers will experience the return of Junior and his girlfriend Jasmine.

Kerry’s appearance on The Princess Diaries could ruffle feathers, given reports that her friendship with Katie is currently ‘strained’ following an alleged argument between their partners.

Katie’s new husband Lee Andrews, who she married just 11 days after they met, reportedly ‘punched’ Kerry’s Celebs Go Dating boyfriend Paolo Margaglione during the couple’s ‘honeymoon’ in Dubai.

Speaking about Kerry, Princess said: ‘She’s on the show. I feel like me and Kerry; he’s known me since I was a baby and I’ve seen him a lot throughout my life. He’s such a lovely person and you’ll see us bouncing off each other again.’

Although her mother’s love life is anything but ordinary, the Princess, who married her fourth husband in January after a whirlwind one-week romance, said she was in no rush to go on dates.

He explained: ‘So, it is possible to meet privately. If you want to keep things private you can do that. Most of my life has been spent in the public eye, so it’s nice for me to hide something. I mentioned that people slide into my DMs, but I’m taking my time and living my life.

‘In the series you will see Junior’s girlfriend Jasmine trying to set me up on a dating app but I found it very stressful. So I just do my job and if the dates come, they come. ‘I’m focusing on myself for now.’
