Prisoner manhunt LIVE: Algerian ‘sex offender’ on the run after being mistakenly released | UK | News

David Lammy, who replaced Prime Minister Kier Starmer, clashed with his Conservative Party opponent in a debate at PMQs today over the accidental release of a migrant from prison. Ahead of news of the latest accidental release, the Shadow Defense Secretary said: “The public is extremely concerned about what happened in the Kebatu case, they want to know there will be no repeat.
“So I put to him a very clear question about his responsibilities. Again, can Kebatu reassure the House that since his release no other asylum seeker criminals have been accidentally released from prison?”
Before that, Lammy told the house: “I spent 14 years in opposition and did a lot better than he did.
“I answered the question. Under their watch the prisons were in complete disarray. Suicides increased. The prison guard cut back – 20,000 neighborhood police officers lost their lives.
“We deported more people last year than they have deported in the last five years. I will not take any lessons from the esteemed gentleman.
