Alien attack could be imminent

A Harvard professor has warned that an alien attack could be imminent, claiming a mysterious interstellar object hurtling towards the solar system could be an extraterrestrial spacecraft.

The object, known as 3I/ATLAS, was first detected on July 1 and is estimated to be the size of Manhattan and weigh a staggering 33 billion tons.

While most scientists believe it was a comet, Professor Avi Loeb, a Harvard astrophysicist and director of the Center for Astrophysics, says it could be something much worse.

Professor Loeb told the New York Post: “He can come to save us or he can come to destroy us.

“If you want to have a holiday, go before that date. [October 29]. Because who knows what will happen?”

The object is scheduled to reach its closest point to the sun on October 29, which Loeb warns could be a potential alien “attack date.”

Its calculations show that it could approach Earth between November 21st and December 5th.

What makes 3I/ATLAS particularly strange is its composition. Scientists detected a plume of smoke that emitted four grams of nickel per second, but no iron, forming a compound called nickel tetracarbonyl, a substance only observed in human industrial processes.

Professor Loeb explained: “There is only one place where it is known to exist; in industrially produced nickel alloys.

“This has never been observed before in a comet.”

But other experts rejected his claims. Oxford University astronomer Chris Lintott described the alien theory as “feet of nonsense” and insisted 3I/ATLAS was a natural interstellar comet and “an exciting discovery in its own right”.

NASA also moved to allay public fears by confirming that 3I/ATLAS poses no threat to Earth and will pass safely through the inner solar system.

Still, Professor Loeb, known for his bold theories about alien technology, is convinced: “Some things about 3I/ATLAS are implausible.”
