Priya Nair to succeed Rohit Jawa as Hindustan Unilever CEO and MD

Yeni Delhi: In a surprise movement, Hindustan Unilever Ltd (Hul) announced on Thursday that Priya Nair was appointed as the General Manager and General Manager of the company. Nair is currently president, Beauty & Wellbeing, Unilever.

Nair, which entered into force as of August 1st, fulfills Rohit Jawa, who spent two years as Hul’s CEO and MD.

Furthermore, he will attend the Hul Board subject to the necessary approvals and will continue to be a member of the Unilever Leadership Manager.

According to a company statement, Jawa will resign as CEO and MD to continue the next episode on July 31 on his personal and professional journey.

In 1995, Nair joined Hul and played various sales and marketing roles in home care, beauty and prosperity and personal care. Between 2014-2020, he became Hul and then Hul General Manager Hul and then Executive Director between 2020-2022.

Later, he continued to be Beauty & Wellbeing, the Global Chief Marketing Officer at Unilever. Since 2023, Priya is the president of Beauty & Wellbeing, one of the fastest growing works of Unilever.

On June 27, 2023, Jawa worked as the General Manager and CEO of Hul and followed by Sanjiv Mehta, who retired from the company after a 10 -year mission.

During the term of office of Jawa, the company achieved competitive growth under the leadership of volume. He introduced the ‘aspire’ strategy, which directs the business portfolio and channels to transform them into high growth demands.

“Rohit played many important roles during his 37 -year successful career, including Vice President of the Manager North Asia and President Unilever China, and the president of the Unilever Filipinler, two of the most important Unilever operations,” he said.

Hul selling soap, shampoo, tea and ketchup, reported a turnover La2% increased by 2% compared to the previous year and 60.680 Crore until the previous year. Post -tax profit grew by 5% La10,644 Crore. The FMCG sector is struggling with repressed urban demand.
