Priyanka Returns to Indian Screens

Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ first look from Globetrotter was announced by filmmaker SS Rajamouli. She is seen dressed in a yellow sari and holding a gun.
“Welcome back, the woman who redefined Indian cinema on the global stage,” the director wrote. “I can’t wait for the world to witness your countless hues as Mandakini,” she added.
Globetrotter marks the actor’s return to Indian screens after seven years. Last seen in Shonali Bose’s The Sky is Pink, Priyanka’s much-anticipated Bollywood outing with Jee Le Zara alongside Farhan Akhtar, Katrina Kaif and Alia Bhatt was shelved soon after it was announced. In a friendly ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with fans on X, Priyanka was asked to comment on what her involvement in Globetrotter means. “I hope a new era begins and I come back to Indian screens,” he replied.
“The best way to participate in Telugu cinema is to do it with the greats,” he wrote. He called his co-star Mahesh Babu a “dear friend and a legend”.
He revealed that his daughter Malti, who accompanied him during the shoot, spent time with Mahesh Babu’s daughter Sitara. “Malti loved spending time with Sitara and visited Rajamouli Sir’s farm and saw her favorite calf.”
Priyanka also revealed that she is learning Telugu. “Obviously it is not my native language, but SS Rajamouli Sir has been very helpful. I will be able to deliver my lines in Telugu and live up to the expectations,” he said, but also sought forgiveness from the audience for any mistakes he might have made.
When asked which was harder (learning Telugu or SS Rajamouli’s shooting schedule), he refused to choose either. “It was a life-changing experience,” was his assessment.
